It’s a gloomy Saturday at the French Riviera and surprisingly, my husband prepared a cooked breakfast (he only cooks for me once a year so I guess that’s his fair share of cooking for 2013). Now it’s my turn, as it has always been – nope, I’m not complaining, I like cooking :)
A good friend of mine, who’s now living in Australia, suggested including some recipes in my blog. I’m quite shy to be honest as I’m still dreaming of making delish signature dishes. I would love to develop a recipe page in my site and post some of my specialties, naks! But hey, my husband and few friends really enjoy the dishes I make (my Russian friend even dreamt about the food I cooked for her! *another kilig moment) so please watch out for that!
For today’s lunch, I’ve decided make use of the poivron (bell peppers) in our fridge and stuffed them with spicy beef ala Philly steak style with cheese on top then bake them in the oven twenty minutes before taking out jacket pototaes I popped in there over half an hour ago. This is not my specialty, in fact, it’s my first time to make it. Haha, admittedly it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, so I won’t post the recipe nor a photo yet (I know I can do better, lol). Good thing we had a heavy breakfast, thanks b!
Since both of us are working during weekdays (sometimes on weekends too), we don’t usually get to eat lunch together at home (whilst facing a good view from our apartment) like we did today. I really value the importance of eating together at home as a couple (and as a family one day), I’m sure you’ll agree, and I’m proud that we get to do this most dinners of the week (breakfast or lunch together is a bonus). Aside from having this quality bonding moment (but just ban the use of mobile phones while eating, it kills our social skills sometimes), I get to improve my craft for cooking – part of marriage essentials 101 (which reminds me of the first dish I made when I first lived independently in Singapore eight years ago, it was horrible, lol, and thank God I’m making good progress). Hopefully, I can share some recipes soon.
We’re about to watch a 3D film at home. Have a nice first February weekend guys xxx
